Worry
As a species we've learned to worry
there was always someone stronger
a larger fish in the sea, a danger in the bushes
until we got to a point, where there was no need to worry
we'd built machines larger than the largest of creatures
produce so much we know not what to do with
and yet we still worry
We're constantly pushing our limits
to try to understand the world around us
one could say it's hardwired into us
all to find the next thing to worry about
We built telescopes
looked upon the stars
and saw that space is pretty much void of anything
We built microscopes
looked into our seemingly solid surroundings
and found they were basically empty too
what we did find is merely the possibility that something is there
We find that the universe is basically empty
and yet we still worry
How foolish can we be...
then again
were we different
perhaps we wouldn't have made it thus far
this may be our defining trait
what pushes us forward
so maybe worrying isn't such a bad thing after all...
